1. Purpose and scope
Öryggismiðstöðin´s human resources policy is detailed in the company's employee manual.
Öryggismiðstöðin seeks to recruit skilled and ambitious employees who work according to our values of leadership, care, and trust. These guiding principles, together with continuous training, aim to empower employees, maintain a strong team spirit, ensure customer satisfaction, and maximize the company's performance.

Hiring and termination
We hire the most qualified people in our field of work.

When an employee’s time with the company comes to an end they are offered an exit interview with their immediate supervisor or the HR manager and we always strive to make an employee’s exit as positive an experience as possible.
Employees who reach retirement age are invited to take a special course for those who are leaving the labor market because of their age.

Terms of employment
Employees' wage terms take into account collective agreements where applicable. Because wages are determined on an individual basis at Öryggismiðstöðin, the responsibilities and nature of the job, as well as the skills, abilities, productivity, and achievements of each employee are considered. Payroll information can be found in employment contracts signed by each employee.
Öryggismiðstöðin operates according to an equal pay system and the equal pay policy is in accordance with the requirements of the equal pay standard ÍST 85:2012 and in accordance with act No. 10/2008 on equal status and equal rights of women and men.
