Fire alarms systems for responsible operations of buildings

Fire alarm systems are an integral part of the responsible operation of buildings. They consist of an operations center which receives alarms, issues alerts and monitors sensors and equipment connected to the system.

The operations center connects to a variety of sensors, suitable for the situation:

  • Photo-electric (optical) sensors are the most common type of smoke detectors
  • Heat sensors are used where there is a risk of false alarms due to steam or dust
  • Integrated heat- and optical sensors are less likely to give false alarms than photo-electric ones and provide better protection than heat sensors
  • Line sensors are suitable for large buildings with high ceilings
  • Linear heat cables are used where there is a high risk of false alarms and even damage to equipment due to moisture and dirt

The purpose of fire alarm systems is to detect fires in buildings, issue alerts and control the closing of doors and ventilation systems to save lives and minimize damage.

Fire alarm systems are available for different types of buildings:

  • Commercial buildings
  • Industrial buildings
  • Livestock housing
  • Freezers and other specialized housing

Highly sensitive smoke ventilation systems detect smoke and heat

Smoke ventilation systems can be connected to fire alarm systems. They can detect with high sensitivity any trace of smoke or overheating in the room in question.

Pipes with holes at certain intervals are laid from highly sensitive sensors around the room with emphasis on monitoring sensitive equipment, such as computer cabinets.

Smoke ventilation systems are a practical solution for rooms that house sensitive data and activities, such as archive rooms and computer rooms, where a quick response is necessary.
