We monitor all messages from the Home Security System around the clock, all year round and will dispatch a security guard to the location if needed.

Home Security offers many options as far as choice and combination of sensors, based on your circumstances and needs
You have a choice of:

You can also get pet immune motion sensors if there is a pet in the home.
Home Security App Included in the Security System
The app enables you to do many things, including:
- See the status of the system, whether it is armed, in night mode, or not armed
- See and receive notifications about when the system is accessed, disarmed, and armed, and by whom
- View images from motion sensor cameras in case of a burglary or other incident
- View images from cameras if they are connected to the security system
- Create users and grant permanent or temporary access to the security system
- See the temperature of the room where the sensor is located
- See the status of doors equipped with door sensors
- See the status of sensor batteries and receive notifications if they need to be replaced
You can control many Home Security systems through the same app, for instance if the same user has a security system set up in their home and summer house, and even in their business.
You can connect cameras to Home Security, that are suitable for both indoor- and outdoor use.

1. Can cameras be included in Home Security?
Home Security offers motion sensors with cameras. You can live stream footage from the sensor and view material recorded by the sensors, e.g. when the sensor detects movement when the system is armed. Keep in mind that camera is not in high definition, since its purpose is to provide an overview but not analyze details. It is powered by AA batteries which can last 1-2 years, depending on usage.
2. How many users can access the Home Security app?
Up to 200 users can access the Home Security app. Up to 200 access chips are also available.
3. What changes will be made to the monthly fee during the contract period?
The service fees change according to the wage index published by Statistics Iceland at any time.
4. What happens if I move during the contract period?
We will transfer Home Security free of charge if the contract is renewed with a new duration period
5. Can an outside party access cameras connected to Home Security?
All of Home Security’s terminal equipment is in encrypted communication and not connected to the internet. The app, on the other hand, is connected to the internet via a wireless network or the user’s mobile network. The app is subject to the same usage and security rules as other apps. The password should not be used for other services and should be changed regularly. By paying close attention to cyber security, you can protect yourself against most risk factors associated with the use of smart devices on the internet. Home Security runs on a well-known and thoroughly tested platform where security is paramount.
6. Can Öryggismiðstöðin access cameras connected to Home Security?
The customer must give Öryggismiðstöðin’s technical services access to Home Security so they can provide service. The user will receive notification to that effect. All actions in Home Security are saved in the event log and the user is notified after the service is completed. Notifications are sent to the user’s Home Security app
7. Can I give friends and family temporary access to the system?
Yes, it is very easy to add new users to Home Security and remove their access again. This is done through the Home Security app.
8. Does a technician have to come to my home to add extra sensors or access chips?
No, it is easy to add more sensors in the Home Security app and Öryggismiðstöðin’s online store offers a wide range of additional sensors. Each Home Security service can have up to 32 access chips and 32 access codes.
Home Security Safety Features
All of Home Security’s terminal equipment (sensors and smart devices) are in encrypted (AES) communication with the security system’s operations center and is therefore not connected to the internet.
All internet communications go through the security system’s operations center. The operations center is in encrypted (AES) communication with Home Security’s cloud solutions where the data is stored and handled in a certified data center in Europe.
The Home Security app is in encrypted (SSL/HTTPS ) communication with the cloud. Video streams are sent through encrypted (ECOP2) communication.
The vast majority of security failures and breaches are generally in equipment that is not actively monitored and is not regularly updated with regard to security flaws and newly discovered threats.
Home Security is actively monitored and uses encrypted information from the sensors all the way to the smartphone.
The customer always has a choice whether to allow cameras in their home and if so, where such equipment is located.
Home Security and its service providers comply with all the provisions of the personal data act (GDPR). GDPR imposes stricter restrictions on the collection, handling, and retention of data.
The manufacturer of Home Security and Öryggismiðstöðin will never distribute personally identifiable or non-personally identifiable information to a third party.
